Touristic Mürzzuschlag
Mürzzuschlag is a lovely little town, about hundred kilometres away from both Vienna and Graz. It is close to the mountain Semmering, that is famous not only for skiing but also for the Semmeringbahn built by Carl Ritter von Ghega, which was the world's first mountain railway.
The rich history of Mürzzuschlag is visible due to the high number of museums and exhibitions: The Wintersportmuseum, Brahms-Museum, Südbahn-Kulturbahnhof (which exhibits a fine collection of steam locomotives and associated equipment and rolling stock), Kunsthaus and Roseggerstübl.
There is a historic part of the town with many little shops and cafés.
